Energy Efficiency

Insulation

Checking the energy efficiency of their house by measuring the thickness of fiberglass insulation in the attic.

Fiberglass, blown-in — Energy Star recommends insulation be a minimum of R30 (12.3”) to a maximum of R60 (22.75”) in the greater Houston area. Morgan Pro Services recommends R38 (15.2”) to R49 (19”), depending on your specific situation.

Radiant Barrier

  • The four natural metals with the highest infrared reflectivity are aluminum, copper, silver, and gold. Not all metals maintain their reflectivity. Many metals corrode in the presence of heat and moisture.
  • Copper radiant barrier — The patented Copperflect® technology is naturally corrosion resistant and works by reflecting 97% of the infrared heat in your home, making it warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. This means lower heating and cooling bills, and greater comfort for you and your family. Morgan Pro Services is a licensed Copperflect dealer.
  • Aluminum radiant barrier — ThermFlux radiant barrier is made from a highly reflective material that reflects radiant heat rather than absorbing it. This lightweight, highly durable radiant barrier has superior corrosion resistance for long-lasting performance. It provides greater comfort and can reduce cooling costs 5% to 10%. Morgan Pro Services is a licensed Sigma Technologies dealer.

Solar Ventilation

Letting your attic breathe is an important part of maintaining a healthy and energy efficient home. Attic Breeze solar attic fans are best in class, professional grade ventilation products engineered for a lifetime of durability. Designed to save you money by making your HVAC more efficient, helping your insulation work better and extending the life of your shingles.

Indoor Air Quality

Whole-Home Air Purification — Indoor air pollutants have been ranked among the top five environmental risks to public health by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). When left untreated, indoor air contaminants accumulate to dangerous levels, posing a great risk to our health — especially for children, the elderly, and those with existing respiratory illnesses. Whole-Home Air Purification reduces airborne viruses, bacteria and pathogens; eliminates allergy-causing contaminants like pollen, mold spores and pet dander; and eliminates up to 90% of airborne particulates

Air Cleaners

Air Cleaners maximize the life of your heating and cooling equipment, improve energy savings by keeping your HVAC equipment clean, capture both microscopic particles and larger contaminants, permanently trap indoor allergens that can lead to respiratory problems, and last up to four times longer than a standard one-inch furnace filter.

UV Lights

Intense UV Light is any effective way of eliminating organic pollutants such as mold, mildew, fungus, bacteria and viruses in HVAC ducts and air handling units. When installed near the evaporator coil, UV lights are very helpful in keeping your air conditioning equipment clean, enhancing your air flow and preventing microbial build-up from becoming airborne.

Dehumidification

Whole-Home Dehumidifiers work to reduce overly humid conditions and help protect furnishings and belongings from warpage, mildew and rot. They inhibit unhealthy conditions by reducing the growth of allergens like mold, mildew and dust mites. Dehumidifiers also increase the comfort in your home by getting rid of that sticky, cold and clammy feeling while eliminating musty odors.
